JANA HUDDLESTON

Paralegal

Jana came to Elder Law of East Tennessee with a background in banking and executive legal support in the long-term care industry. These experiences prepared her well to assist her clients and Attorney Bailey Schiermeyer in implementing legal strategies related to clients’ assets, public benefits, and long-term care. Her “inside knowledge” of the rules and regulations of the financial and long-term care industries benefits the ELET team and her clients. Jana tracks all of Bailey’s cases from start to finish, prepares legal documents customized to the clients’ unique needs and goals, communicates with clients about their legal planning, addresses their questions and concerns, liaisons with other professionals involved in cases, and assists with signings. Bailey’s clients call Jana directly for updates about the work being done on their behalf or when they need to schedule followup meetings and calls with Bailey. Jana’s organizational skills and professional experiences help her cut through chaotic situations and get to the heart of what needs to be done, while her genuine empathy and care for her clients enable her to relate to her clients and effectively advocate on their behalf.

What is the problem you are best at solving for your clients?

My clients need answers – fast – but they also need reassurance that they are in capable hands. I am able to relate to our clients on a personal level and bridge the gap between attorney and client through practical communication and genuine empathy.

What excites you about your work and the contribution you make to the ELET team?

Having worked in the corporate legal world, it is refreshing to work with our clients and their families.  ELET is truly mission-driven.  I love meeting our clients and their families and helping to build the unique relationships that define our work.

What do you love most about ELET?

The people!  Our clients are special…and so is our staff!

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

On my more industrious days, I’ll be enjoying a tandem bicycle ride with my husband. Beyond that, I enjoy working with the Blount Mansion Association and watching Ina Garten and old episodes of the Barefoot Contessa.

Fun facts:

I taught yoga in the Knoxville/Chattanooga area for 12 years.
